How safe is your neighborhood?

Ever see Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies in your neighborhood with their lights and sirens on and wonder what happened or have ever wondered how much crime occurs in your neighborhood? Well the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office has a new website that helps alert citizens to crimes such as car burglaries and thefts.
Thanks to a new partnership between SRCSO and CrimeReports, creators of the National Crime Map, residents will now have access to software that shows them where incidents like this occur in Santa Rosa County.
The public can access the website 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world and can also download a free application via a cell phone (if you have an iPhone) through the Apple iTunes Store.
This service allows citizens to sign-up for free custom email alerts and also allows them to submit anonymous online tips so residents can stay on top of crime in their neighborhood to help improve the safety of the neighborhood and the community.
Anyone can visit the Crime Map software at http://santarosasheriff.org/crime-information/. From there, you can search by address or even zoom in or out on an interactive map. Icons alert you to incidents in a particular area and the date that the incident occurred. To download the app on the iTunes Store, search for “CrimeReports”.
