Volunteers starting a local refuge for women escaping the sex trafficking industry are hosting a May 13 luncheon to raise money for their cause.
The event will take place at the Navarre Conference Center, located at 8700 Navarre Parkway in Navarre, and will feature American Idol contestant and recording artist Phil Stacey.
Guest speaker Melissa Woodward will also share her incredible story as a human trafficking survivor at the luncheon.
The luncheon will be catered by local chef Mark Clutter, and there will be a silent auction as well.
Tickets are $65 and will be on sale through April 28.
Proceeds will benefit the local Refuge for Women effort to provide a safe house.
