At approximately 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Underwood Food Mart at the corner of Nelson Street and Hwy 87 in Holley in reference to an armed robbery.
A suspect entered the store armed with a knife and demanded and received an undetermined amount of cash from the store manager. The suspect then fled the scene in a dark gray Lexus. The suspect fled north on Highway 87 South, eventually crossing over into Okaloosa County. SRSO deputies and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in the search for the suspect after he dumped the vehicle and fled on foot.
The suspect was subsequently located and was detained and is being questioned at this time.
