A Navarre man is in critical condition following an accident that occurred Tuesday near the South Santa Rosa Service Center.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, Michael Laskowski, 20, was traveling westbound on US Hwy. 98 at around 2:50 a.m. when his vehicle drifted left into the median.
When his Chevy Cavalier entered the median, the Navarre man attempted to steer back onto the roadway and lost control of the car. The vehicle entered the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 98, eventually flipping three times before striking a fence. The car came to final rest inside a fenced area near the South Santa Rosa Service Center.
Laskowski was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the accident report. He was transported to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola following the crash.
The investigation is still ongoing. The report said FHP is investigating whether the driver was intoxicated when he wrecked the vehicle.
