The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin work on a $3.1 million project to mill and resurface State Road (S.R. 87), from Hickory Hammock Road (County Road 184) to Technology Avenue in Milton.
Additional improvements for the 1.6-mile segment of S.R. 87 will include:
- Turn lane and radius widening at Hickory Hammock Road.
- Drainage upgrades.
- New signing and pavement markings.
During construction, drivers can expect lane closures between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Access to commercial and residential properties will always be maintained.
The project is estimated for completion in spring 2024.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
