State Ethics Commission Dismisses Complaint Against Rep. Andrade

The State of Florida’s Commission on Ethics has announced that a complaint made against Florida House District 2 Representative Alex Andrade has been dismissed.

The complaint was lodged against Andrade by East Milton resident Pam Mitchell, a failed 2018 candidate for Milton City Council, who is also a member of the disgraced Santa Rosa County Republican Executive Committee. Mitchell seemingly violated her oath to the REC by campaigning against Andrade, a registered Republican, promoting instead NPA candidate Kim Kline, who  lost her bid to unseat Andrade.

The Commission issued a press release stating that during a September 12 closed session the Florida Commission on Ethics took action on 46 matters, including a review of the complaint filed by Mitchell.

The review was limited to determinations as to whether the contents of the complaint were adequate to allege violation of the Code of Ethics or other laws within the Commission’s jurisdiction.

Mitchell’s complaint was dismissed for lack of legal sufficiency.

“Hopefully Ms. Mitchell can find something more productive to do now with her time,” stated Andrade. “She’s obviously a troubled person. I just hope she finds some peace and maybe a hobby.”

Andrade will term out next year after being elected to the Florida Legislature in 2018 and subsequently winning every re-election since that time.
