This weekend the annual celebration of bygone days in the Munson area will be celebrated in scenic Blackwater River State Forest. There will be more than 120 vendors at the 2025 Munson Community Heritage Festival, taking place 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12 at Krul Lake.
Picturesque Krul Lake is about 22 miles north of Milton, but it’s worth the drive to step back in time during the festival, which features vendors, live entertainment, historical demonstrations, an antique tractor show, food and more, including fun-filled activities for kids. A eecond annual duck race with 600 ducks is planned for both days, and an archery contest will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday ($25 registration via Travis Ates at 850-957-5701 ext. 5751). Additionally, a car show is planned for Saturday.
Learn about old-time ways through hands-on demonstrations, plus Native American displays, wood carving, basket weaving, making corn-shuck dolls, dulcimer making, shoe cobbling, cross-cut sawing, old-time circular sawmill operation, turpentining and displays by local museums and more.
