Jeff Snow Campaign Pledges 15% of Salary back to County

Santa Rosa County District 2 Commissioner Candidate Jeff Snow believes leadership begins with service, accountability, and leading by example. That’s why, as a candidate he is making an unusual pledge to the citizens of Santa Rosa County. If elected, Snow has committed to taking a 15% reduction in his county commission salary.

“As families across our county work hard to make ends meet, I believe those elected to serve should be willing to make sacrifices as well,” Snow said. “Public office is about serving the people, not serving ourselves.”

Snow’s pledge comes after attending the Santa Rosa County FY 2027 Budget Workshop on Monday, where county leaders discussed the significant financial challenges facing the county, including budget reductions being considered in anticipation of the proposed Amendment 3 on the November 3 ballot. That experience reinforced his belief that county government must exercise fiscal discipline while remaining transparent and accountable to taxpayers.

“After much thought and prayer, I felt this was the right decision,” Snow said. “When times are difficult for our families, friends, and neighbors, those who truly believe in servant leadership should be the first to step forward and demonstrate that we are putting our citizens first.”

Snow brings eight years of public service to the race, having represented Ward 3 on the Milton City Council. During his tenure, he helped prioritize critical wastewater infrastructure improvements, including developing a long-term solution to replace the aging downtown Milton wastewater treatment plant, ending decades of treated effluent discharges into the Blackwater River. The project was designed to protect public health, preserve the environment, support responsible growth, and meet future regulatory standards.

Looking ahead, Snow says his priorities include responsible fiscal management, transparent government, infrastructure planning, and protecting the quality of life that makes Santa Rosa County unique. He also opposes the development of large-scale data centers in the county, citing concerns about their long-term impact on local resources and community character.

*During his tenure, the city’s financial reserves grew from $8 million to over $43 million which were the highest in the city’s history. Secured over $60 million in State and Federal grants for roads and major infrastructure projects for the City of Milton. Spearheaded the largest small business growth in decades by implementing a business friendly policies and initiatives. Led major revitalization efforts across city parks, recreational facilities, landscapes, and riverwalk areas.

*Served on the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council for 6 years and 1 year as chairman. While serving on the TDC, we improved the landscaping, parking lots, shower facilities, fencing on Navarre Beach and numerous other projects around Santa Rosa County.

“As your County Commissioner, I will work every day to earn your trust through honesty, accessibility, and responsible stewardship of your tax dollars,” Snow said.

Snow encourages residents to become part of the conversation as the campaign moves forward.

“What matters most to you? I’d love to hear from you,” he said.
