If current Santa Rosa County District 2 Commissioner Bob Cole decides to seek another term in 2018 he will face off against at least two challengers — Wallis Mahute and Tammy Jo Brown.
Both challengers have prefiled for the race and are residents of East Milton. Cole has not yet prefiled for re-election.
Cole defeated Mahute in 2014. Brown is a political newcomer and employee of the Santa Rosa County Clerk of Court.

District 4 Commissioner Rob Williamson will also be up for re-election. No challengers have yet prefiled for that seat.
