If you’re out and about in Gulf Breeze Proper within the coming weeks and happen to run into a film crew, don’t be alarmed.
At Wednesday’s Executive Committee meeting, city council learned that a production crew with cable channel Home and Garden Television (HGTV) will be filming an episode of Beach Hunters in Gulf Breeze Proper sometime between Monday, Feb. 27 and Friday, March 3.
The show follows around potential home-buyers who are looking for a beach home in certain locations around the world. This mystery couple has selected the area as their new place to call home, and will have to select from one of three homes showcased in the 30-minute segment.
Gulf Breeze Police Deputy Chief Sharon Armstrong presented the city with the announcement earlier this month and stated that the production team, Warm Springs Production, will be filming in parts of “downtown” Gulf Breeze Proper.
The show submitted the Special Events Application earlier this month. The filming is not expected to affect traffic and will be in short durations.
The 7-person film crew also asked the city for their permission to fly a drone over the city for an aerial shot of Gulf Breeze for the segment.
The Special Events Application is expected to be approved at Monday’s City Council meeting.
South Santa Rosa News reached out to HGTV regarding the filming, but the company did not return messages as of press time.
