Archie Glover boat ramp closes for pier replacement

Posted on July 28, 2020 by Staff reports

Replacement of the Archie Glover boarding dock pier will begin Mon., Aug. 3. The project includes demolition and removal of boarding dock pier #2, and reconstruction of the pier in the same footprint. By contract, the project has a time of completion of 90 days. While the timing of this project coincides with summer boating season, several factors impact project scheduling including regulatory permitting, grant deadlines and contractor availability.

Due to safety issues in an active construction area, the boat ramp will be closed until the work is complete. Although boats may not be launched during this time, the two “T” courtesy piers will be remain open for use by the public. Other ongoing improvements to this park include restroom renovations, ADA accessibility improvements and installation of an adaptive kayak launch.
