BP settlement process wraps up

Senator Doug Broxson this afternoon released a statement regarding the settlement process for BP Deepwater Horizon claims.

“This week, Haliburton Energy Services, Inc. and Transocean, Ltd. mailed thousands of checks to individuals and businesses who suffered damages as a result of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil platform explosion on April 20, 2010. With a few exceptions, this completes the settlement process for many residents and business owners who endured the devastation of the oil spill along the shores of the Gulf Coast,” Broxson stated. “Our office would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the Gulf Coast Claims Center and Claims Administrator, Patrick Juneau for working with us, and many others across the Panhandle, to oversee the distribution of over two billion dollars of settlement payments to our constituents.”
