Candidates Enter Race to Replace Term Limited Rep. Andrade

Alex Andrade is facing term limits, so he cannot seek re-election to the Florida House District 2 seat during the 2026 election cycle. Currently five Republican and one Democratic candidate have entered the race for that seat. Candidates have until early June to qualify for the race.

Andrade was first elected to serve in the House District 2 seat in 2018. Subsequently, he was re-elected in 2020, 2022 and 2024. 

Republicans Jason Coffey, Jon Fay, Trei McMullen and Melissa Pusch will face off in the August 18 primary. One other Republican candidate plans to withdraw before qualifying week.

Qualifying week for Florida House of Representative candidates is 12 noon, Monday, June 8, 2026 throught 12 noon, Friday, June 12, 2026.

The GOP winner will face any other qualified candidates during the Nov. 3 General Election.

Here is a map of Florida House District 2, which covers Gulf Breeze and parts of Navarre. Voters in other areas of Santa Rosa County will not be able to vote in the race.
