Chamber to discuss Navarre incorporation

Tomorrow morning the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors is expected to discuss incorporation of the community.

“We’ll be doing that tomorrow,” Linda Fusco, president of the board said Tuesday morning, following last evening’s chamber member forum & discussion.

Daniel Scruggs, owner of Navarre Drywall, attended the Monday forum and said a small group associated with the failed 2014 effort to incorporate showed up, pushing for another shot and seeking the chamber’s support.

“The meeting was called to see what the chamber could do to better represent members. But it didn’t turn out like that. They ran with the incorporation thing,” Scruggs said, adding, “I don’t think we should incorporate as long as the same individuals who have been pushing it are involved. I believe we will incorporate one day. I think it’s the right thing for Navarre but not with the current advocates.”
According to the chamber website, the meeting starts at 7:45 a.m. and will take place at the conference room at the Visitor Information Center/Chamber building, located at 8543 Navarre Parkway.
