A 52-year-old Navarre woman was struck by two vehicles and killed on U.S. Highway 98 last Saturday near the intersection of Sunrise Drive in Navarre.
The pedestrian, Ellen Williams, was pronounced dead on the scene by LifeGuard Ambulance EM.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Williams was walking along Hwy. 98 near the intersection when she traveled into the direct path of a vehicle driven by Jason Shaw, 38, of Navarre. Shaw was driving eastbound on Hwy. 98 when he struck Williams. The force of the accident, threw Williams east into the outside lane of travel on Hwy. 98 where she was struck again by a vehicle driven by Katie Ann Lee, 26, of Hurlburt Field, who was driving in that lane.
Lee was taken to Gulf Breeze Baptist Hospital in Gulf Breeze Proper with minor injuries.
Charges are still pending in the accident.
