Multiple sculptors will be participating in a sandcastle exhibition on Sunday, May 5 at Navarre Beach Pier. Windjammers on the Pier will host related Cinco de Mayo festivities.

Daniel Anderson, a professional sandcastle builder who lives in Walton County, goes by the nickname “Dan in the Sand” and is known for showing amateurs how to create sandcastles.

On Sunday the building will start early and design carving into the builds will take place around midday with the goal to have the castles completed in time for sunset.

Anderson says it’s “Just a bunch of sand sculpting friends hanging out spreading sandcastle joy.”

Buddy Doney, a manager at Windjammers on the Pier, said they’ve teamed up with Gulf Goldring Distributing, which will be providing swag.

Starting on Friday and running throughout the weekend, the bar will be serving the following Cinco de Mayo drink specials: House Margaritas $5, Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita $7, Milagro Silver shots $5 and Sunset Serenade shots $7, Corona and Corona Light cans $4 and Pacifico Draft $4. Additionally, the restaurant will be serving Fiesta Chicken Nachos and Caritas Del Rey.

Additionally, on Saturday night, Tony Trego will be performing live and on Sunday talented up and coming local musician Zach Renzi will take the stage from 4-8 p.m.
