Deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office around 10:30 last night received a call in reference to a medical emergency. The call location was on John Hamm Road near Hwy 87 in Milton. Upon arrival, Deputies located an adult male on the side of the road. Deputies provided emergency medical assistance but the individual was deceased. Initial indicators are that the individual was the victim of a shooting. We are currently working this investigation as a homicide.
Major Crimes Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians arrived to process the scene. The victim is an adult male.
