Santa Rosa County’s budgeted revenues have increased from $100 million in 2014 to $140 million projected for fiscal year 2018, which begins Oct. 1.
Per its 2018 tentative annual budget, the county expects to generate roughly $51 million in property tax revenue during fiscal year 2018 at the current millage rate.
“New to this year’s budget is a capital infrastructure budget as a result of the recently adopted half cent infrastructure surtax,” Tony Gomillion, county administrator, stated in the report.
Upcoming budget presentations and hearings are scheduled for:
July 18 9 a.m. – budget presentation by all constitutional officers
July 18 1:30 p.m. – budget presentation by county commission departments
September 5 6 p.m. – first public budget hearing with adoption of tentative budget, millage rates and final special assessment rates
September 20 6 p.m. – second public budget hearing and adoption of final millage rates and budget
Meetings will take place at the County Administrative Complex, located at 6495 Caroline Street in Milton.
