Santa Rosa County residents and businesses are asked to provide input to update the county’s land development code (LDC).
The LDC contains regulations that govern how land is developed in unincorporated areas of the county and addresses everything from zoning, site development, the natural environment and stormwater management to parking, sidewalks, landscaping and architectural design criteria.
Officials say that updating the LDC is a complex task which will take at least a year to complete. Goals of the update include modernizing the code to better address new uses and initiatives, eliminating unnecessary regulations, encouraging quality development and streamlining the code to make it easier for the public to use and understand.
Open house meetings to discuss the LDC update are scheduled as follows:
- Thurs., Aug 1 from 5-7 p.m. at the Pace Community Center
5976 Chumuckla Hwy. in Pace. - Thurs., Aug 15 from 5-7 p.m. at the Tiger Point Community Center
1370 Tiger Park Ln. in Gulf Breeze.
