County to study Navarre Community access road

Posted on October 23, 2017 by Staff reports

The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an engineering firm to study an east-west Navarre Community Access Road north of U.S. 98 which could serve as a parallel connector road between Edgewood Drive on the west side of Navarre and Whispering Pines Boulevard on the east side of Navarre.

The proposed corridor will connect existing collector roads, new proposed connection roads and improve them with paved shoulders, sidewalks, and medians, per county information.

The study, which is being funded by the Florida Department of Transportation, will include soliciting public input for the preferred corridor location and its economic, environmental, social and engineering feasibility.

Various public meetings, which may be conducted during weekends or after normal working hours, are anticipated, according to the legal notice for the related request for proposals.

The consultant will provide graphics and other related documents for future public meetings, such as a project kick-off meeting, presentations to Santa County Commissioners, coordination meetings with key agencies, corridor workshop or public alternatives meeting, and other unscheduled meetings with homeowners associations, civic groups, etc.

Proposals from firms seeking to provide the study will be opened November 16 by county procurement office staff.
