Covenant Care’s team of caring professionals are looking to add to the family of volunteers.

“We have a real need for volunteers right now,” said Jeff Rogers, director of marketing for Covenant Care. “There are many opportunities including companionship for patients, administrative assistance, support for grieving families, encouragement for grieving kids and support for veterans.”

According to Rogers, other opportunities include fundraising and help with special events, and practical help for patients and their families such as yard work, cooking, crafting and sewing.

Covenant Care will host an orientation from 2-4 p.m. on June 13 and a orientation with training from 12-4 p.m. on July 16 and 18. Both events will take place 5041 N. 12th Avenue in Pensacola.

Covenant Care was started in 1980 when five area hospital appointed a volunteer steering committee to develop a community-based hospice program.
