Around 27 vendors so far have plans to relocate roughly 3.7 miles west into the former Iron Gargoyle Antique Mall, following yesterday’s closure of Gulf Breeze Flea Market.
Gulf Breeze Flea Market had been a U.S. 98 landmark for about 28 years.
Mick Truitt, a longtime vendor at the former Gulf Breeze Flea Market, has been working with Scott Snyder, co-owner of the former Iron Gargoyle Antique Mall, located at 4531 Gulf Breeze Parkway.
Truitt, who sells DVDs and albums, said a popular produce vendor will be set up just inside the door of the new facility.
Snyder said he and Jeff Davis purchased the 2.16-acre new market site, which county records show was sold for $1.1 million in June this year.
According to Snyder, the current plan is to call the new site “The Market.” He said they aim to open in mid-November or soon thereafter, adding there will be tents and mobile vendors outside.
