A Pensacola woman is facing a DUI with property damage charge following a Saturday night crash in which she struck a traffic cone and the left front side of a Florida Highway Patrol car.

FHP reports that Stacy M. Paros, 45, 6101 N. Enclave Drive, Pensacola, was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe sports utility vehicle northbound on Interstate 1-110 around 10:50 p.m.

A trooper was on scene aiding a disabled vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway. The trooper’s patrol car, which had its emergency lights activated, was blocking the outside lane along with traffic cones.

The trooper noticed the SUV in the outside northbound lane approaching, so he moved out of the path of the vehicle. However, the SUV veered into the center travel lane, and the right front of it struck a traffic cone and the left front of the FHP patrol car.

Per FHP, Paros is being charged with a violation of the Move Over Law and DUI with property damage.

She was booked into Escambia County Jail at 12:33 a.m. and issued a $500 bond. She was released the following morning at 10:23 a.m.
