Range Road 213 now considered Closed Area
This means RR 213 between Range Road 747 to Range Road 257, also known as Ranger Camp Road, is now deemed FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY and closed to all recreational and public-through traffic.
The purpose of this change is to ensure range testing and training remains protected from national security threats and provide a higher level of safety for anyone who travels in areas were the military mission occurs.
Official use of RR 213 includes:
Travelers with business at 6th Ranger Training Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Duke Field and Alabama Army National Guard. Anyone traveling to directly support operations on the range traveling in a government or personal vehicle are authorized travelers.
Utility and communication companies travelling in commercial vehicles. No traveler will be permitted on the road when RR 213 gates are closed, regardless of destination or purpose.
To enforce this new For Official Use Only status, 96th Security Forces Squadron will increase patrols as well as new signage, barriers and gates will be installed in the area through early March. Violations for unauthorized range road use can be fines and revocation of recreation passes.
