Santa Rosa Jail’s mugshot of Susan Holmes, 79, of Gulf Breeze
Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Josh McGee arrested 79-year-old Susan Holmes of Gulf Breeze on Nov. 30, 2025, charing her with a misdemeanor count of misusing 9-1-1 services.
McGee’s report states that around 7:19 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, Holmes called SRSO’s non-emergency number to report a neighbor was shining lights into her windows and backyard.
Per the report, SRSO Sgt. Art Austin advised Holmes there was no violation and not to use 9-1-1 to report the matter. McGee noted Holmes advised she would “continue to call until she was purple in the face.”
McGee alleges Holmes called 7 times over the course of a couple of hours, asserting she did so “to harass dispatchers, scream obscenities, and (request) law enforcement for a non-law enforcement matter.”
Holmes was booked Nov. 30 around 10:09 p.m. She’s been issued a $250 bond but remains in jail at this time, according to Santa Rosa Jail records.
Santa Rosa Clerk of Court & Comptroller records show Holmes was “unable to sign” related paperwork and that she has been referred for a medical evaluation.
