Erin Nisewonger: A Veteran’s Mission to Give Santa Rosa County Its Voice Back

Posted on June 22, 2026 by ADVERTORIAL

In a county where growth and frustration often collide, Erin Nisewonger says she’s running for the Santa Rosa County Commission because “it’s time for a fighter who will truly bring the voice of the residents back to the table.”

A proud veteran and former law‑enforcement professional, Nisewonger has spent her career serving others — first in uniform, then in the community. Her faith, she says, has shaped her belief in servant leadership, personal responsibility, and putting people before politics.

Raised with a deep respect for hard work and honesty, Nisewonger’s path led her from military service to law enforcement, where she gained firsthand experience in emergency response and public safety. Later, she earned a Master’s Degree in National Security, studying how crisis management, interagency coordination, and resource prioritization affect communities at every level. That training, she says, taught her how to lead under pressure — and how to listen when people feel unheard.

Now, she’s turning that experience toward local government. “Our infrastructure is crumbling, roads are backed up, and families have to rearrange their lives just to attend commission meetings,” Nisewonger said. “As a mother, I know how important it is to put working families first.”

Her vision for Santa Rosa County blends practicality with preservation. She wants to unleash the local economy by supporting tourism in Navarre and Gulf Breeze while keeping the “old Florida feel” that makes the south end of the county unique. Protecting natural resources and farmland, she says, is vital to maintaining the area’s character.

Nisewonger also emphasizes law and order and constitutional rights, pledging to ensure law enforcement has the tools it needs while defending residents’ Second Amendment freedoms. “Public safety and constitutional freedoms go hand in hand,” she said.

Her platform centers on transparency, accountability, and trust — values she believes have eroded under what she calls a “good‑old‑boys club” culture. “It’s time for new blood and a new voice,” she said.

Looking ahead, Nisewonger supports responsible development that creates long‑term jobs and strengthens local businesses without sacrificing Santa Rosa’s small‑town charm. She also advocates for education pathways that connect students to careers and higher learning, helping build a stronger local economy.

With a record of service and a message of integrity, Erin Nisewonger says she’s ready to bring backbone, solutions, and accountability back to county government — and to make sure the people of Santa Rosa County are heard again.
