More than 1,200 people lined up last weekend at Community of Christ Church on Presidio Street for Fear Forest. Organizer Huston Hawkins said the event was a huge success, collecting more than 2,000 pounds of food for Manna Food Pantries.

“Thank you so much for everyone who helped, donated, came out or even shared a post,” Hawkins said. More than 50 volunteers participated in the haunted trail, which had no admission fee but instead asked for donations for Manna Food Pantries.

In addition to collecting non-perishable food Manna, the event also allowed participants and up to five of their guests to cut the wait line in exchange for donating blood to OneBlood, which set up a Big Red Bus mobile donation center on site.

Plans are already underway for next year’s Fear Forest.
