According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a truck and SUV were stopped facing southbound on Garcon Point Bridge when a sedan was hit from behind by a tractor truck, which failed to stop, causing the sedan to strike the rear of the truck. The truck was then pushed forward, striking the SUV.

No injuries were reported by FHP, but the report states the driver of the SUV, a male from the United Kingdom whose age is unknown, fled the scene on foot.

Per FHP, the tractor truck driver was a 51-year-old male from Pensacola; the sedan driver was a 53-year-old female from Pensacola, and the driver of the truck was a 17-year-old male from Milton.

Both lanes of the Garcon Point Bridge were closed while the investigation was conducted but have since reopened.
