Former Florida State Senator Greg Evers died in a single-vehicle crash near his home in Baker, a former legislative assistant confirmed.
“Ann and I are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Senator Greg Evers. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family,” Florida Governor Rick Scott stated.
Sources say Evers truck was found this afternoon in a creek on Griffith Mile Road after he didn’t return home from work last night.
Evers was elected to the Florida House of Representatives October 16, 2001 and served there until he was elected in 2010 to the Florida Senate, where he served until 2016.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
