U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz on January 28 announced the 2021 Academy Nominations.
Gaetz said one of his most important roles is making the nominations. He said receiving the nomination doesn’t mean a student receives the appointment to a military academy.
Included in the list are South Santa Rosa students, including:
Air Force Academy
- Mira Helms, Gulf Breeze High School (GBHS)
West Point
- Ashley Beers, Navarre High School (NHS)
- Steven Decesear, GBHS
Naval Academy
- Abigail Driscoll, GBHS
- Liam Gibson, NHS
