There’s a new sheriff in town. Sort of.
After 4 1/2 years serving as the Gulf Breeze Police Chief, Robert Randle hung up his hat last Friday, marking a new milestone for the police department.

His replacement? Rick Hawthorne.
Randle, who replaced former police chief Peter Paulding quietly went into retirement and a ceremony will take place tonight at the Gulf Breeze City Council meeting where the council plans to swear in Hawthorne along with newly appointed Police Deputy Chief Sharon Armstrong.
The meeting starts tonight at 6 p.m. at Gulf Breeze City Hall.
