The Greater Navarre Area Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council and the Navarre Area Board of Realtors® are pleased to announce three new scholarships for the Navarre High School NJROTC program.
The scholarships, named in honor of the late Shirley & Charlie Brown, and will each be $1,000 and awarded to three outstanding Senior Cadets from the Navarre High School NJROTC Program.
The scholarships will be presented at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 9 at the NHS NJROTC awards ceremony which will take place in the school gymnasium.
“Shirley and Charlie Brown were pillars of the Navarre community for 30 years, volunteering and supporting many charities, organizations and groups,” stated TJ Goulet, chamber CEO. “Charlie was a long time member of NABOR and a Realtor® with Bill Pullum Realty, and Shirley was a founding member of The Greater Navarre Area Chamber of Commerce and a powerful supporter of the Military and our local NJROTC Program.”
According to Goulet, the scholarship funds were raised from proceeds from the 2018 Greater Navarre Chamber and NABOR Military Appreciation Breakfast, an annual event held to honor and thank local Military Members.
This year’s breakfast is scheduled for Friday, May 17th at the Soundside Club at Hurlburt Field.
