Gulf Breeze Police stayed busy this past week making numerous drug-related arrests in the city limits.
Tuesday, January 10
At the 50 block of U.S. Highway 98, a traffic stop for speeding led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle for DUI and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Tennessee man, William Fletcher, 22, was arrested without incident at 3:17 a.m.
Also on Tuesday, at the 50 block of Hwy. 98, a Pensacola man was slapped with a Moving Traffic Violation at 5:54 a.m. after he failed to stop at a traffic light when it was red. The driver, Robert Brown Edwards, 25, was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license.
At Gulf Breeze Middle School, there was a report of a stolen bicycle.
Thursday, January 12
At the 1800 block of Hwy. 98, police pulled over a Pensacola man for speeding at 5:24 a.m. The traffic stop ultimately led to the arrest of that driver, 33-year-old Breyon Curl, for Driving With a Suspended License.
Also on Thursday, a transient was arrested at 2:49 p.m. for an outstanding warrant at a business located at 729 Gulf Breeze Parkway. Police stopped to question the man, 28-year-old Nathan Carey, and ran his name in their database only to find he had an outstanding warrant. Following the find, police arrested Carey and booked him into Santa Rosa County Jail.
Friday, January 13
At the 1800 block of Hwy. 98, police pulled over a car driven by a Navarre woman after they suspected she was under the influence at 12:43 a.m. The stop ultimately led to the arrest of the driver, Veronica Beason, 29, for DUI, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Sunday, January 15
At the 400 block of Pensacola Beach Road, Gulf Breeze Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation at 1:01 a.m. The stop ultimately led to the arrest of both the driver and passenger on numerous charges. The driver, Christian Briscoe, 34, of Gulf Breeze, was arrested for Driving With a Suspended License (Habitual Offender), while the passenger, Andrew Godwin, 32, of Gulf Breeze, was arrested for Possession of Amphetamines (With Intent to Distribute) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Also on Sunday, at the Exxon Gas Station, there was a report of battery between individuals. Police are still investigating the matter and have not made any arrests.
On the Pensacola Bay Bridge, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle when they suspected the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence at 9:44 p.m. The driver, Paul Townsend, 46, of Alabama, was subsequently arrested for DUI during the traffic stop.
Monday, January 16
On the Pensacola Bay Bridge, police clocked a vehicle speeding northbound and pulled the driver over at 1:31 a.m. The traffic stop subsequently led to the arrest of the driver, John Gardner, 24, of Pensacola, for DUI and Refusal to Submit to a Lawful Test.
At the 200 block of Hibiscus Avenue, there was a report of a found wallet.
Also on Monday, at the 1800 block of Hwy. 98, a traffic stop for an expired tag, led to the arrest of the driver for DUI. The driver, Christopher Stock, 22, was arrested without incident at 5:42 p.m.
This past week, Gulf Breeze Police had a total of 326 calls into their dispatch. They also made a total of 113 traffic stops, which resulted in 55 citations and 58 warnings.
There was one reported wreck with injury in the city limits.
There was also 5 total wrecks reported without injury in Gulf Breeze Proper and no reported hit-and-runs.
