While patrolling around Sailwind Condominiums in Gulf Breeze Proper at 2:48 a.m., a Gulf Breeze Police officer observed a dark colored vehicle in a far corner of the condo’s parking lot. Upon walking up to the vehicle, the officer made contact with the occupants and smelled an odor of marijuana. The driver, Harper Norris, 19, of Gulf Breeze, was issued a Notice to Appear for Possession of Marijuana (Under 20 Grams) by the officer.
A traffic stop for no tail lights led to the arrest of the vehicle’s passenger, an Orlando resident, for Possession of Marijuana (Under 20 Grams). The passenger, Dylan Chapman, was arrested without incident at 11:09 p.m.
Wednesday, May 24
A domestic disturbance at the Chick-Fil-A quickly turned into a stick situation for GBPD officers. When they arrived on scene at the domestic disturbance at 1:23 p.m., they located the suspect in the fast food restaurant. The suspect, Jason Sexton, 42, of Louisiana was transported by officers to Gulf Breeze Hospital after he complained of having difficulty breathing. While in the hospital, officers were able to determine the individual had an outstanding warrant. As officers went back to arrest the suspect, they noticed he had fled from the hospital. A perimeter was later set up and Sexton surrendered to authorities.
A Colorado woman was arrested for Disorderly Intoxication at the Quality Inn after she was warned several times to settle down at 5:53 p.m. The suspect, Christel Settle, 25, was later apprehended and charged with the misdemeanor.
Friday, May 26
There was a reported misuse of the 911 system and for that individual making a false report to police officers. That individual now has a warrant out for their arrest.
Saturday, May 27
Police noticed a vehicle parked on the edge of the road in front of Sailwind Condos with its lights on at around 11:48 p.m. As they approached the vehicle officers noticed the driver of the vehicle, Margo Partain, 52, passed out behind the wheel. The Gulf Breeze woman’s foot was on the brake, but the vehicle itself was in park. She was later arrested for DUI.
Sunday, May 28
A Pensacola man was arrested for DUI after he almost hit an officer with his vehicle as the officer was working another traffic stop. As the officer was working the traffic stop, he observed an oncoming vehicle drifting towards his vehicle. The vehicle almost struck the officer and the patrol car. The officer later made contact with the driver of that vehicle, Richard Clymer, 36, of Pensacola, and arrested him for DUI.
Monday, May 29
A traffic stop for speeding in the Gulf Islands National Seashore ultimately led to the arrest of a Palm Beach, Fla. man for DUI at 1:24 a.m. The driver, Spencer Parry, 26, was arrested without incident.
Also on Monday, a traffic stop for speeding on the Pensacola Bay Bridge led to the arrest of a Pensacola man for DUI at 2:44 a.m. The driver, Addison Olsen, 21, was later booked into Santa Rosa County Jail.
This past week, Gulf Breeze Police conducted a total of 221 traffic stops. Of those stops, 113 resulted in citations, while the other 108 resulted in warnings.
This past week, there was one wreck reported with injury and 16 total wrecks reported without injury in the city limits and on the Pensacola Bay Bridge. There was also two reported hit and runs.
