This past week, the Gulf Breeze Police Department stayed busy responding to vehicle burglaries and thefts in the City of Gulf Breeze.
Tuesday, Feb. 14
At the 400 block of Fairpoint Drive, there was a report of a verbal disturbance. No one was arrested.
Wednesday, Feb. 15
At Fairpoint Place, there were two reported car burglaries.
Thursday, Feb. 16
At Sunchase Condominiums, there was a report of a burglary to a storage area.
Friday, Feb. 17
At The Breeze Apartments, there was a report of a natural death.
Saturday, Feb. 18
At The Breeze Apartments, there were two separate reports of bicycles being stolen. Both bicycles were stolen from the stairwell bicycle storage area.
Sunday, Feb. 19
On the Pensacola Bay Bridge, Gulf Breeze Police pulled over a motorist for speeding at 2:51 a.m. The traffic stop ultimately led to the arrest of the Pensacola driver on numerous charges. The suspect, Justin Phillips, 35, was arrested for DUI, Obstructing Police Without Violence, Possession of Marijuana (Under 20 Grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Also on Dunay, at the 500 block of U.S. Highway 98, a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation ultimately led to the arrest (Notice to Appear) of the passenger of the vehicle on a minor drug charge. The Milton man, 20-year-old Adam Pottker, was charged with Possession of Marijuana (Under 20 Grams).
Monday, Feb. 20
At the 400 block of Kenilworth Avenue, there was a report of a vehicle burglary, that had allegedly occurred 5 days before.
Also on Monday, at the 300 block of Pensacola Beach Road, there was a report of a kidnapping at 11:09 p.m. Police responded and apprehended 71-year-old Tyrome Jackson of Pensacola. He was eventually charged with Kidnapping – False Imprisonment.
This past week, Gulf Breeze Police dispatch had a total of 476 calls. Gulf Breeze Police officers made a total of 119 traffic stops. Fifty-five of those resulted in citations, while the other 64 resulted in warnings.
There was one wreck with injury reported in Gulf Breeze Proper last week. There were also 7 auto accidents reported without injury last week and one reported hit and run.
