The Florida’s Health Department today will officially announce a new appointment system aimed to allow citizens easier access to COVID-19 vaccinations. Florida citizens 65 years of age and older and frontline healthcare workers can now call 866-201-7110 to schedule an appointment.

Over 15,193 have been vaccinated so far in Santa Rosa County. Hearing impaired can call 833-476-1035.

The hotline number for hearing impaired citizens is 833-476-1035.

Local governments and health care systems were bombarded last month after Governor Ron DeSantis announced vaccinations were available for seniors and certain others, including frontline health care workers. Santa Rosa County struggled to keep up with the volume of calls received in the aftermath.

In addition to appointments with phone, online registration is available for vaccinations being distributed via Publix stores across Florida. DeSantis yesterday announced vaccine availability at Publix stores throughout the state had increased to 261 locations in 20 counties. Online registration for those vaccines are available via publix.com/covidvaccine.

This week DeSantis announced 1 million seniors have been vaccinated and by February 1 the COVID-19 vaccine will have been offered to every resident and staff member at Florida’s nearly 700 nursing homes and 3,000 assisted living facilities.
