The Team Hurlburt Honorary Commander Program is an executive-level program intended to educate influential community members in order to foster public support for the base, and it also serves as a forum in which the Hurlburt commanders can solicit advice and support from our civic leaders on matters affecting military and civilian communities, per Hurlburt Field.

Honorary commanders serve a one-year term, which includes tours of each of the units represented in the program, as well as on-base functions and special events, such as awards ceremonies, changes of command and holiday events.

At the end of the year, the goal is to have forged mutually beneficial relationships between the base and influential leaders in the community who will continue to serve as our ambassadors as well as our eyes and ears in the community, and be open and willing to discuss issues of mutual importance in the years to come.
