Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office responded yesterday afternoon to a call involving a two-month-old infant in the Midway area.
According to Kevin Sowell with Santa Rosa County Emergency Communications, an emergency call was placed to 9-1-1 at 3:26 p.m. from the 5600 block of Government Drive.
Sowell said Lifeguard Ambulance and Midway Fire Department responded on scene at 3:32 p.m. and provided medical attention before the patient was transported to Gulf Breeze Hospital at 3:47 p.m., arriving at 3:47 p.m.
Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Rich Aloy said CPR was performed on scene, and the infant was transported to a local hospital but died.
Aloy said an investigation is underway.
