The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 10-year-old boy from Pace was struck by a sedan Saturday evening on Gulf Boulevard on Navarre Beach.

A red Nissan sedan driven by a 33-year-old male was traveling westbound on County Road 399 (Gulf Boulevard) east of Indiana Street.

Another sedan was stopped in traffic westbound, near the red Nissan, and a 10-year-old was sitting in the back-right seat. The child exited the sedan and darted northbound across both lanes of County Road 399 where the red Nissan struck the child in the westbound lane.

The child was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital by helicopter where he is expected to recover from his injuries.

The child was not wearing any type of safety equipment, the roadway was dark, there was limited shoulder on the
roadway and the Nissan stopped immediately after the crash in the roadway.

The driver of the red Nissan sedan, 33-year-old Ryan Morgan of Fort Lauderdale, was arrested for Driving with a Suspended/Revoked License.
