Gunther Properties has facilitated the sale of 25.59 acres, a plot of land that will become the new home of a 12,000-square-foot Love’s Travel Stop at Interstate-10 and Garcon Point Road in Milton.Fred Gunther and Troy Stepherson of Gunther Properties listed one of the 7.74-acre parcels which sold for $579,900, and Fred Gunther assembled the additional 17.85 acres, for a total site size of 25.59 acres and a total price of $1,866,400.

“We are proud to be a part of a development which will bring millions of dollars in gas tax revenue to Santa Rosa County each year,” Fred Gunther of Gunther Properties said. “We truly enjoyed working with Love’s team to bring this project to fruition for the community and the client.”

“Love’s is excited to join the Santa Rosa County community,” said Bill Gleason, real estate project manager for Love’s. “We place Love’s in locations that are easy to access for professional and four-wheel drivers and we think the Milton location is perfect for helping our customers get back on the road quickly.”

The proposed development is slated to open in summer 2021 and will bring a travel stop, an Arby’s and 65 new jobs to the area.

“As Santa Rosa County Commissioner of District 2, I am happy that we could bring Love’s Travel Stops to the Garcon Point I-10 interchange. The vehicle plaza will not only service our visitors and tourists but will also be a new amenity to all residents of Santa Rosa County. The taxes derived from both sales and fuel at this facility will go a long way in providing the much-needed funding for our growing infrastructure,” District 2 Santa Rosa County Commissioner Bob Cole said. “On behalf of the board of county commissioners and the residents of Santa Rosa County, I would like to personally welcome Love’s to our beautiful area. We are greatly looking forward to the day this travel stop opens.”

Currently, the closest Love’s Travel Stops are found in Mossy Head, Florida and Loxley, Alabama.

Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Oklahoma City, Love’s Travel Stops has more than 510 locations in 41 states, providing professional truck drivers and motorists with 24-hour access to clean and safe places to purchase gasoline, diesel fuel, travel items, electronics, snacks, restaurant offerings and more.
