Navarre Beach Fire Rescue has been awarded a roughly $15,000 EMS grant from the Florida Department of Health to purchase a Lucas Automatic CPR device.

“This device will ensure good consistent chest compressions when a patient is in cardiac arrest,” stated NBFR Chief Danny Fureigh. “Often times CPR is compromised while moving patients from tight spaces like bathrooms, when going down stairs and removing patients from the beach.”

According to Fureigh, it’s the second grant NBFR has received this month.

“We also received a grant from the Division of Forestry for $20,975 to purchase a compressor and fill station to refill our SCBA bottles,” he said.
