John Clinton on April 20 prefiled for the School Board District 3 Race to represent the Navarre Area.

“I’m running to fight for our children and to make sure they always come first,” Clinton told South Santa Rosa News. “I want to lift up parents, teachers, faculty, staff, and administrators of this district as one cohesive team, serving our children.”

Clinton said he believes parental engagement in the education of students is “crucial” and should be encouraged.

He resides on Admiral Street in Navarre and has two sons enrolled in Santa Rosa County School District Schools: Mason, 10, and Tyler, 7. His wife, Beth, is an ICU Nurse at Ascension Sacred Heart in Pensacola.

“I moved to this area in 2010 to accept a job on Hurlburt, working on the U28. For about 8 years I was deploying with this platform all around the world while attending classes at UWF. I wrapped up my Bachelor’s Degree in Network System Operations last year and have been working as a network administrator the past two years. I volunteer at my church in the kids ministry and as a Cubmaster for Pack 106 in Navarre,” he said.

Currently Carol Boston represents District 3 on the school board. She has not yet pre-filed for re-election.
