John Benjamin Carper, 36, of the 2400 block of Abaco Drive in Navarre, was booked August 6 into Santa Rosa County Jail August 6 on a charge of sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12 by a suspect over the age of 18.
His arrest reports states that in 2011 Carper had vaginal intercourse with a girl who was 6 years old at the time.
The report states that at the time of the alleged incident(s) Carper resided at 2151 Panhandle Trail, Apartment H in Navarre.
The victim told police that one incident occurred in the living room of that house while she and the suspect were sitting on the couch watching a movie. She told an investigator she pretended to be asleep when he penetrated her because he told her to be still and that he made “grunted noises.”
Additionally, the victim reported others incidents of alleged penetration.
Carper was interviewed August 3 by police, who noted he had moved out of the apartment around March 19, 2012. He is currently being held without bond.
