Navarre Rotary Club announces 2016 scholarship program

Rotary Club of Navarre is excited to announce that we will be awarding ten (10) $1,000 college scholarships to eligible 2016 Navarre High School seniors this year.
Five of the scholarships will be awarded to the outstanding cadets of the NHS JROTC program, one will be awarded to a member of the NHS Interact Club, three to members of the general student population and our newest scholarship, The Pat Quinn Veterinary Science Scholarship will be awarded to a NHS senior who is pursuing a career in Veterinary or Animal Sciences.
The primary selection criteria includes:
l The student demonstrates exceptional leadership and service to the community
l The student demonstrates loyalty, moral character and patriotism
l Scholastic Aptitude (Grade Point Average)
l Academic Class Standing
l Financial Need
Applications for the scholarship may be obtained from the high school guidance counselors at Navarre High School and on our website, Navarrerotary.org.
Deadline for completing the application and returning them to the high school guidance counselor’s office is noon on Thursday, May 5.
Selections will be made prior to high school graduation by the Rotary Club of Navarre Scholarship Committee.
The scholarships will be awarded during the recipient’s annual high school awards ceremony which is anticipated to be Thursday, May 19.
