Lovell Government Services, a veteran-owned, Pensacola-based company, is seeking to buy 8 acres in the county-owned Northwest Florida Industrial Park @ I-10, located on Highway 87 South. The expansion would reportedly bring 90 new jobs to the area.
Chris Lovell, Major USMC Retired, in 2013 started the company, which assists businesses which are interested in marketing their products to the Federal Government with certification, marketing, and contracting expertise.
According to its website, the primary mission of the company is to provide exclusive medical, surgical and pharmaceutical resources to the U.S. Department of Defense and veterans Affairs Medical Organizations.
Per the October 21 agenda for the Santa Rosa County Commissioners, county staff are recommending authorization to submit a Triumph pre-application for $3.6-million in infrastructure improvements, waiving a $160,000 match for the funds. The improvements would include construction of a road which would allow access to the site where the company plans to construct a 100,000-square-foot facility.
Additionally, staff recommends accepting their $160,000 offer for the land purchase and utilizing $72,000 over a period of 6-8 years from the economic development portion of the electric franchise fee fund to be used as match to the QTI Tax Refund program, which would provide an award of $360,000 to the company.
