District 5 Commissioner Colten Wright seems to be a totally different person than the polite man who campaigned to serve.
Sadly, he’s turned into a snarky, petty politician who, instead of focusing on the serious issues facing constituents in his district, added a discussion to the board’s July 22 work session to address fellow commissioners’ use of cell phones during meetings.
District 3 Commissioner James Calkins pulled out his personal phone during a recent meeting and used a Decibel Meter app to demonstrate the ridiculousness of the county’s recently enacted noise ordinance, showing that normal conversation exceeds the sound restrictions.
Apparently that was a huge problem which Wright believes needs to be addressed by the five commissioners. What a joke!
Ignoring the tougher issues in his district, such as storm water drainage and traffic woes, to focus on phone use is majoring in minors, and a big disappointment.
We were promised better. We deserve better.
