Trip Advisor, the world’s largest travel site, announced today that Pensacola Beach is among its list of top US beaches. Ringing in at number five, Pensacola Beach is known for its sugar-white sand, emerald green water and wealth of year-round activities. Navarre Beach came in at number 12.

Of the 25 best beaches in the U.S., 40 percent are in Florida, including Panama City, number three.

“What an honor for our destination and our entire region,” President of Visit Pensacola Steve Hayes said. “Winning this award illuminates the unique experience that is Pensacola and all of the pristine areas and activities America’s first settlement has to offer.”

Award winners were determined based on the quantity and quality of traveler reviews and ratings for beaches on TripAdvisor, gathered over 12 months.

One recent TripAdvisor review noted, “Sand that looks and feels like sugar, gorgeous turquoise water, wide expanses of beach. You won’t find a better beach anywhere in the world.”

Sought after for its pristine beauty, Pensacola Beach is much more than talcum sand and emerald water. Here, adventure meets relaxation. Fresh seafood is woven into every dish both elaborate and not. Shopping is as simple as a walk away and activities are always on the schedule.
