Precautionary Boil Water Notice issued for parts of East Navarre

Posted on February 27, 2019 by Staff reports

The Holley-Navarre Water System has issued a “Precautionary Boil Water Notice” for Navarre Beach Camping Resort, Buckley Dr, Blankenship Rd, and the Riviera Beach Subdivision.  This notice is in response to a reported 4” line break that occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 98 and Riviera Beach Ln.

As a precaution, residents and businesses who were without water are being advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, bathing, or washing dishes be boiled.  A rolling boil of at least one minute is sufficient.  As an alternative bottled water may be used.

This “PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE” will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.   This process routinely takes 48 hours. Precautionary Boil Water Notices are issued as a part of standard protocol following any loss of water pressure, whether as a result of planned maintenance activities or unscheduled repairs.

HNWS crews completed the repairs at 8:30 a.m. Residents are advised that there is a possibility of discolored water as a result of the outage, and to flush their home’s plumbing by running their taps for a few minutes.
