Public Hearing for Proposed Revisions to Land Development Code Set for May 8

The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing for the proposed Land Development Code (LDC) changes from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mon., May 8. The meeting will break from 12-1 p.m. for lunch.

All interested parties are invited to attend and present written and/or verbal comments on May 8. Those unable to attend may email comments to Shawn Ward at Shawnw@santarosa.fl.gov. All comments are due by 12 p.m. on Thurs., May 4.

The LDC hearing will follow these rules of order:

  • Citizens wishing to make public comment may be allowed three minutes to speak. The chairman will have the discretion to cut the time short, may choose to ask for a hand-raise vote from citizens, or may ask that groups of like-minded citizens designate a representative to speak for the group. The chairman will use the appropriate option to best understand public opinion and expedite the meeting.
  • Citizens/Stakeholders/Advocates who wish to speak for an extended period of time and/or show a presentation, may be allowed to do so by making a request via email to ShawnW@santarosa.fl.gov to be placed on the agenda and by specifying the length of time needed. To expedite the meeting, the speaker must reference the specific chapter and section of the LDC when presenting their viewpoint.
  • All audio/visual presentations must be submitted by 5 p.m. April 24 by emailing boardpresentations@santarosa.fl.gov for review by the county IT department for compatibility. Presentations must be submitted in PDF or PowerPoint format.
