Florida House District 3 Representative Jayer Williamson has announced that the Florida House of Representatives Page & Messenger programs for the 2020 legislative session priority deadline for consideration is at 5 p.m., Tuesday, November 5 at 5 p.m.

Williamson supports the state-run Page & Messenger programs for students in 6th through 12th grades that provide the opportunity to experience the legislative process first-hand. Williamson, along with each State Representative, may select one Page (in 6th through 8th grade) and one Messenger (in 9th through 12th grade) to participate each session in Tallahassee. Students interested in the programs must submit an application in addition to Williamson’s specific district requirements, which includes an essay.

While students who live in and/or go to school within House District 3, are given priority, residency in the district, it is not a requirement.

Participants/families must be able to cover travel, lodging, meals and other travel costs at their own expense. However, students selected for the reserved spots in the program are eligible to receive up to $400 of reimbursed travel expenses from the Santa Rosa County School District, if they are enrolled within the county school district. Additional restrictions to receive the funding also apply.
